January 4
Perhaps, in some way, just because the steps of the story haven’t always been clear, that doesn’t mean there can’t be something beautiful that rises up, anyway. Like wildflowers, beautiful things can grow in the gaps…they push up through the soil, unannounced, and bloom.
An unexpected friendship that you formed in a time of need
A new interest you suddenly feel compelled to pursue, even though you’re not sure if you’ll be “good” at it
An opportunity that arose that you never would have imagined would have been something you had the courage to try
Overcoming a long-held fear by accident––realizing that you slowly, but surely, you’ve been learning to climb new mountains, and the progress you have made is significant, even if you are not aware of every little thing that contributed to your growth,
Even if you don’t remember exactly how you arrived there, you are still free to be grateful for the journey here. Much like wildflowers, growth can happen quietly and in mysterious ways we didn’t expect. And perhaps, if this has happened in the past, there is still room for this to happen in the future, too.You can still seek to pay attention and remember the details of your life more while also knowing that for all the times you didn’t do that, you are still allowed to recognize and accept the ways you have grown, even if you cannot recall every specific event or change that led to this current version of yourself. And even if you still feel that you have a long way to go, you are allowed to embrace the present stage of your growth. Allow yourself to look forward to the growth that surprises you in unexpected, yet beautiful ways.
