December 5

Words to repeat to yourself: "When I start to wonder if I am actually valued for who I am, and not just what I do, I remind myself of life experiences and moments that have quietly contributed to my journey, no matter who did or did not notice. There is so much more to me than what’s on the surface."

Sometimes, discovering who you are beneath the layers of expectations takes time. And sometimes, that “time” looks like reflection:

Allow yourself to reflect on times when you were able to contribute to something for some time, and then let someone else take over.

Or maybe, you gave what you could give when you could, and then you made the decision to let go and move on.

Remember the times where letting go was simply an exhale — not even a deep exhale — just a simple one… that is still meaningful, and hard to give ourselves credit for.

Whether big or small, may moments of letting go remind you that you’re still here and you’re not worth any less on the other side of letting go.

This doesn’t mean that everyone will understand. This doesn’t mean that letting go is easy and that you might need time to heal or adjust to new rhythms.

What it means is that you can rest now knowing that even when there is an ending, it wasn't the end of your value, and this is true whether others see it or not.

Keep going on this daily journey of discovery, creating room for exhales, small and grand “letting go’s…” And even then, there is more to you.
