One day you will look back and you will find…
One day you will look back and you will find, even in the slower moments, you did not stop growing. You will look back and find that many of the things that seemed like scattered were actually seeds being sown that were actually waiting to grow in their own time.
Of course, there will be many instances in life where seeds are sown that do not grow. There will be times where the condition of the soil was not what you needed it to be or there was not enough rain or sunlight. But there will also be times where you look around and realize that in some of the very seasons you thought you were just aimlessly moving from one thing to the next, you were actually making connections that you could not see at the time. Like flower stems springing up from the ground, these connections can suddenly appear, reaching towards the light, becoming integral to the landscape of your life in ways you could never have imagined.
-A waiting period actually created room for developing new skills for a next phase
-Having to move through many different things help you gain a diverse range of experiences and perspectives that you would not have had otherwise
-Facing a “no,” eventually allowed you branch into a new direction you were not initially expecting, but it ended up revealing a new way forward that was fulfilling in its own way
Recognizing how something scattered might eventually reveal hidden insights with time doesn’t mean you’re overly-romanticizing your life or overlooking the real grief and struggle that can come with a change of direction. Instead, this kind of compassionate, thoughtful reflection can reveal patterns of growth that may not always be obvious in real-time.
This may not be the case for everything in life and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed if you can’t look back and find the perfect “lesson” for everything that’s happened in your life. Instead, you are free to allow yourself to be open to this possibility: no matter what you can or cannot make sense of today, seeds have been sown along the way. A diverse range of blooms have been unfolding. A garden has been coming to life, one day at a time.
