Of course, “authenticity” is a word. However, you can also think of it like a room—a room where you are free to exhale and take a break, beyond all the pressures and expectations, beyond the script, beyond the version of yourself that you thought you had to be.

Creating that room may be challenging at times, so allow yourself to take it slow.

Create room for questions. Small questions that invite you to consider the small ways you might begin to see who you are, beneath the layers:

-Where do you enjoy having deep conversations with others? Is it face-to-face, through text messaging, or on the phone?
-Do you prefer to write down your thoughts or talk them out?
-What things have you done in your life that make you feel seen?

These questions may seem small, but they are also gateways into a gentle approach of getting to know who you are beneath the layers. They are questions that can remind you there isn’t just one way of “going deeper” and learning more about who you are, beyond expectations.

So here’s to paving the way for “room” for authenticity. And with that room, there is space to discover how genuine expression and connection can come to life.
